TACLOBAN CITY— The Tacloban City District Engineering Office (TCDEO), in coordination with the Bureau of Maintenance (BOM), conduct an inspection and validation of the priority-listed proposed projects for funding under the repair and maintenance program for National Government-Owned Buildings (NGOBs) on November 15, 2024.

Led by the TCDEO’s Maintenance Section, headed by Engr. Charlie B. Tampil, with assistance from BOM inspector Engr. Charlene A. Bolon and Engr. Jumar P. Villamor from the Regional Office 8 Maintenance Division, the inspection and validation aims to ensure proper assessment, prioritization, and funding allocation.

The top-priority buildings for repair identified by TCDEO included the Tacloban City Fire Station, and the Philippine Coast Guard Eastern Visayas Leyte Building and Sub-station Tacloban Building.

The result of the conducted inspection and validation will be forwarded to the Central Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for further evaluation.

Engr. Tampil emphasized the importance of addressing the current needs of these buildings, stating, “We are ensuring that the buildings in need of urgent repairs are prioritized, and that funding is allocated properly to maintain them in optimal condition.”
