NSSDEO, Brgy. Burabud, Laoang, Northern Samar– The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Northern Samar Second District Engineering Office (NSSDEO) has completed a new evacuation center located in Brgy. Sta. Fe, Catubig Northern Samar and constructed by JT Builders & Construction Supply.
The newly-built evacuation amounting to P9.889 million funded under CY 2022. It has a land area of 31.5×16-meter with complete roofing and painted finish. The other scope of works involves construction of structural, steel and earthworks and reinforced concrete for footing, tie beam, slab on grade and pedestal.
The project was completed on March 27, 2023 and have already been turned over to the beneficiary barangays.
Construction of these facilities aims to promote social and community engagement as it can serve as venues for various social events and other important public gatherings not to mention the needs of students for covered outdoor learning areas.
These facilities also benefit residents because they can be used as evacuation centers in times of calamities and emergencies.
