NSSDEO, Brgy. Burabud, Laoang, N. Samar – The construction of the new Barangay Hall of Brgy. 7, Pambujan, Northern Samar, implemented by DPWH-Northern Samar Second District Engineering Office, has helped the local officials and their constituents in their pursuit of local governance.
The 67.5 square-meter Multi-purpose Building, constructed with reinforced concrete works, finishing works including masonry, plastering, floor tile works, roofing works, carpentry, and joinery works, and the completed plumbing and electrical works, was implemented by the DPWH-NSSDEO, headed by District Engineer Charlito S. Carlobos and Assistant District Engineer Arthur Eric L. Sabong. Under Contract ID No. 23II0043 with an allocated amount of P5 million, S20 Civil Engineering Construction completed the scope of works which was directly supervised by Project Engineer Eliseo B. Allado to ensure that the construction adheres to the program that produce quality infrastructure.
The newly-constructed facility would meet the demands of the local government and citizens since officials of the aforementioned barangay can now perform their duties during working hours and provide public service in their hall.
Barangay 7 officials are grateful to the DPWH in particular for putting an end to the community’s struggle. “We are incredibly grateful that the DPWH has given to us this new barangay hall project, wherein the previous location of our barangay hall was reached by floodwaters. We are fortunate and glad that we moved to an elevated area no longer susceptible for flooding,” Barangay Councilor Robert Adlawan stated.
Additionally, this structure would provide temporary and secure haven to residents who will be relocated during calamities and disasters. “As for our observation, since most houses in our area are built using indigenous materials, it is also a big help to our constituents because they can evacuate immediately in case of calamities like typhoons,” Adlawan added.
