TACLOBAN CITY-Borongan City is set to host a major set of competitions of the Miss Earth Philippines 2024.
Borongan will be the host of the swimwear competition of the prestigious beauty pageant on April 25 to be held at the Baybay Boulevard.
About 29 beautiful women coming from different parts of the country and even abroad are to descend to the Eastern Samar provincial capital to compete in the swimwear event.
City Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan Agda said that as part of their hosting, the candidates will also visit several parts of Borongan.
“We’re taking our guests to our remote barangays to provide them with a unique insight into Borongan City. It’s the first time we’re bringing this national event closer to our people in these areas, underscoring the importance of environmental conservation and heritage preservation,” he said.
The crowning of the winners for this year’s Miss Earth Philippines will be in Talakag, Bukidnon on May 11.
