TACLOBAN CITY – This year’s ‘Mutya han Samar’ title was awarded to the 22-year-old candidate from Catbalogan City during a ceremony held at a public gymnasium in Calbiga town on Wednesday night.
Jhyry-Ross Yboa bested 17 other candidates coming from the different municipalities of the province which was celebrating its 182nd founding anniversary.
Yboa, a former Miss Catbalogan titlist, earlier won as third runner-up of this year’s Miss Pintados, a regional beauty search based in Tacloban City.
The newly-crowned beauty queen, who was adjudged as best in swimsuit, won P100,000 as part of her prize.
The candidate from Calbayog City, Barbara Sarcida, 19, was crowned ‘Mutya han Samar Tourism’. She also won the Miss Photogenic, Best in Festival Costume, and Imaree Aesthetic awards and P70,000.
‘Mutya han Basey’ Nesylvie Dupal, 21, was crowned as ‘Mutya han Samar Environment’ and won P50,000, while ‘Mutya han Hinabangan’ Marivic Silva, 22, bagged the ‘Mutya han Samar Heritage’ winning P40,000.
‘Mutya han Gandara’ Juliana Rae Martin Lllacer, 21, bagged the ‘Mutya han Samar Youth’ and won P30, 000 including best in production number, best in modern Filipiniana, and best in evening gown special awards.
Special awards are ‘Mutya han Pagsanghan’ Alyna Tan as Miss Congeniality, ‘Mutya han Marabut’ Aljealyne Bureros for Miss Professionalism, ‘Mutya han Paranas’ Ann Sherly Nadela for Miss Eloquence, ‘Mutya han Talalora’ Mary Quisquisan for People’s Choice Award.
Corporate awards winners are Mutya han Calbiga Ralphmarie Therese Villota, who bagged the Ida’s Choice Award and Hilom Wellness Spa, Mutya han Tarangnan Ashleen Joy Llanita won the Ms. Glow Up Skin and Ambassador of Goodwill Montano Cityscape, Mutya han Tarangnan Ashleen Joy Llanita for Ambassador of Rainbow Beach Resort.
The pageant was hosted by Miss Supranational 1-st runner-up Pauline Amelinckx, Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2022 Gabrielle Basiano, and Sparkle Talent Center Artist Kaloy Tingcungco.
