Tacloban City – The Tacloban City District Engineering Office (TCDEO) has reported significant progress in its Farm to Market Road (FMR) project traversing Barangay 103-A Paglaum to Barangay 103 Palanog.

This FMR road project spans 900 lane meters and is made of portland concrete cement pavement (PCCP), aiming to enhance connectivity and safety for local residents and commuters. It is expected to facilitate faster delivery of agricultural products.

Funded through the General Appropriation Act of 2023-Department of Agriculture with a total contract amount of Php99,400,000.00, the project aims to transform the existing route into an all-weather concrete thoroughfare. Once completed, the upgraded road promises easier access and improved mobility between the two barangays, benefiting both residents and travelers.

District Engineer Rebecca G. Yuse expressed optimism about the project’s impact, stating, “When this road project is completed, all locals and road travelers will have easy access from Barangay 103-A Paglaum to Barangay 103 Palanog. This development will significantly improve transportation efficiency and safety in the area.”

In addition, TCDEO anticipates Phase 2 of the project, which will expand the improvements beyond the initial 900 lane meters. This next phase aims to further enhance the road network, ensuring ongoing benefits for the community.

Once the entire project is completed, the TCDEO looks forward to the enhanced road network stimulating economic activities and fostering a safer environment for all road users.
