TACLOBAN CITY – At least 23 cooperatives from Eastern Visayas received additional capitalization from the office of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go.
Each cooperative receives P50,000 or a total of P1.150 million to aid in their operations, restoration, and sustainability of services for their members and communities.
The cooperatives identified by Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) were micro-cooperatives or those that have assets worth P3M below, compliant with CDA’s yearly requirements.
Of the 23 cooperatives, two are from Samar province, one from Northern Samar, three from Biliran, three from Eastern Samar, three from Ormoc City, seven from Leyte, and four from Southern Leyte.
“Ang payo ko sa into sa tulong na matatanggap ninyo sa araw na ito palaguin ninyo ang inyong negosyo,” Sen. Go said in his message.
The distribution of assistance to cooperatives was also graced by Samar Governor Sharee Ann Tan, Reps.Stephen James Tan and Reynolds Michael Tan, and CDA-8 Regional Director Venus M. Jornales.
“We are grateful that Sen. Bong Go has always helped the Province of Samar, not only with the cash assistance for our cooperatives, but for many other developments in our province. With this, I hope that we will support each other to support our community,” Gov. Tan said in her message.
Jornales, for her part, extended her gratitude to CDA partners including government offices, local government units, and the cooperative sector.
She emphasized that the amount received by the cooperatives can be used to augment in their operations, grow successfully, and better serve their members and communities. (ROEL T. AMAZONA)
