NSSDEO, Brgy. Burabud, Laoang, N. Samar– The Department of Public Works and Highways Northern Samar Second District Engineering Office (DPWH-NSSDEO) spearheaded by OIC, District Engineer Charlito S. Carlobos and OIC, Assistant District Engineer Atty. Arthur Eric L. Sabong has completed concrete slope protection project located along Laoang-Calomotan Road, to ensure safety of the travelling public.
DPWH has allotted P7.8-million from the DPWH Regular Infrastructure Program under the General Appropriation Act (GAA) of CY 2023. The scope of work involves; 1.) Construction of 58.00 meters structural concrete slope protection with parapet wall at K0793+933 to K0793+991, 2.) Remove and replace 58.00 meters structural concrete drainage canal at K0793+933 to K0793+991, 3.) Concreting/reblocking of 58.00 meters carriageway at K0793+933 to K0793+991, and K0793+933 to K0793+991, and 4.) Concreting/widening of 58.00 meters roadway at K0793+933 – K0793+991, K0793+933 – K0793+991.
This slope protection project has started last April 25, 2023 undertaken by CDU Construction with direct supervision of Project Engineer Christian Dave Pangandoyon with a contract ID number 23II0007. Through diligent effort, fast implementation, and proper monitoring between contractor and NSSDEO, the project was completed ahead of its completion date.
Furthermore, the completion of this project will improve the travel experience of motorist and local commuters providing safe, smooth, and widened road especially to disaster-prone areas along Laoang-Calomotan Road. (RONEL L.GALUPO,PIO STAFF/PR)
