Ormoc City – As part of the kick-off ceremony for the celebration of National Autism Consciousness Week, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO) represented by Assistant District Engineer Irwin L. Antonio and Administrative Section Chief Glenda F. Quiñones participated in the Signing of the Pledge of Commitment along with local government unit officials of Ormoc City and different stakeholders on January 16, 2023 at the Ormoc City Hall.
The pledge of commitment aims to promote the acceptance, accommodation and appreciation of persons on the autism spectrum and to discourage people from using “autistic” as a derogatory term. Spearheaded by Ormoc City SPED Integrated School (OCSIS), the event which is observed from January 16-20, 2023 includes activities such as Symposium Autism Awareness, Arts and Crafts, and Mother and Child Talent Show.
