CATARMAN, Northern Samar – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Northern Samar First District Engineering Office has recently completed a P2.55-million off-carriageway improvement project in Barangay Magsaysay, Bobon, Northern Samar, along the Allen-Catarman Road section.
The improvement works involved the construction of three loading and unloading bays with a sidewalk, making the road safer and more accessible for both pedestrians and motorists.
District Engineer Mario D. Villena reported that the K0735+799 to K0736+760 section along Allen-Catarman Road was funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA) budget.
He added that the improvement of the off-carriageway now provides functional space and a safer road environment for everyone.
The project is expected to significantly reduce the incidence of pedestrian-related accidents while providing greater convenience for the students of Bobon School for Philippine Craftsmen, as the new bays are adjacent to the school.
The office remains committed to enhancing the safety and accessibility of roads throughout the district through its infrastructure development projects.
