CATARMAN, Northern Samar– The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Northern Samar 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) recently completed a one-storey, 3-classroom school building at Maxvilla National High School in Brgy. Maxvilla, Victoria, Northern Samar.

The project has a total floor area of 290.17 square meters which includes clearing & grubbing and embankment.

District Engineer Alvin A. Ignacio emphasized that the facility offers more spacious and conducive learning environment, helping to address the school’s classroom shortage.

DE Ignacio added that the school building features reinforced concrete gutters, a handwashing area at both sides, a PWD-accessible ramp with handrails, window grilles on the front and rear, a parapet wall, and toilets in every classroom for the convenience of both students and teachers.

Maxvilla National High School Principal Dr. Michelle Probadora noted that the new building would really help their learners attain quality education in a more conducive setting.
“I am actually happy with the project of the Department of Education through its implementing Unit the DPWH of Northern Samar First District. The One Storey,3 Classroom would surely cater our 103 students. We are actually very happy because initially we only had 2 buildings and now, we have an additional of 3 classrooms that would really help our learners attain quality education with its conducive classrooms. The classrooms will serve as avenue for our students to be more interactive because as you can see it is actually very conducive, previously we had only our makeshift classrooms but with the provisions of 3 classrooms, I am sure and I am actually very confident that Maxvilla National High school would be able to produce quality learners not only now, but in the future.” Probadora expressed.

The project, with a total cost of P9.88 million, was funded under the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF) FY 2024.
