CATARMAN, Northern Samar – The Planning and Design Section (PDS) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Northern Samar First District Engineering Office has been rated outstanding in the Design Audit held from June 19 to 21, 2024.

The Design Audit was conducted by a team of experts from the DPWH Bureau of Design (BOD) at the Central Office.

The auditors assessed the district’s compliance with the design plans prepared by the PDS, ensuring they meet the Department’s established standards. The audit also aimed to identify areas for strengthening and improving the design process, while establishing a comparative design performance rating for Regional Offices (ROs) and District Engineering Offices (DEOs).

District Engineer Alvin A. Ignacio expressed his appreciation to the PDS’s exceptional performance in the audit, emphasizing that it reflects the dedication and professionalism of the entire team. He further highlighted the critical role the Design Audit plays in ensuring the quality and efficiency of infrastructure projects, underscoring the importance of continuous improvement within the district’s design processes.
