NSSDEO, Brgy. Burabud, Laoang, N. Samar– Through the initiative of Department of Public Works and Highways Northern Samar Second District Engineering Office (DPWH-NSSDEO) led by District Engineer Charlito S. Carlobos and Assistant District Engineer Atty. Arthur Eric L. Sabong immediately instructed the Maintenance Section personnel headed by District Maintenance Engineer Francisco Y. Tañala and Assistant Chief, Engr. Nicanor L. Mejos, Jr., with the support of diligent maintenance field personnel to directly conduct manual restoration/patching of damaged Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) along Samar Pacific Coastal Road (SPCR) specifically located in Brgy. Rombang, Laoang, Northern Samar, on February 15, 2024
The immediate restoration of this road aims to ensure speedy, comfortable, and safe travel experience of the travelling public whereby this is a vital and alternate route going to the Pacific towns (Palapag, Mapanas, Gamay and Lapinig) of Northern Samar Second District.
A palliative measure on PCCP was also conducted in Brgy. Magsaysay, Palapag, Northern Samar, led by the MPP Engr. Aivan Kier Salazar, on February 20, 2024.
District maintenance field personnel rendered activities by manually patching, filling potholes and crack roads to prevent accidents that obstruct or caused harm to the traversing road users.
Over a period of time, road deteriorations occur due to uncontrollable factors and weather conditions. However, NSSDEO-Maintenance Section continues to serve outright actions and performed their responsibilities to attenuate road damages for prolonged use of the road users.
Hence, this activity aims to maintain convenient and passable road to public commuters and motorists that is beneficial in the movement of goods and services and has a significant impact on social and economic services of the province.
