ORMOC CITY– The lifeless body of a 64-year-old man was discovered by a neighbor inside his home at around 5:45pm on Wednesday, October 2, in Zone 2, Barangay Bislig, Tanauan, Leyte.

Police identified the victim, a widower and resident of the area, only by his alias, “Pedro.” He was unemployed and living alone at the time of his death.

According to local authorities, they responded to a report about a deceased individual inside the house shortly after 6:00 pm.

Upon their arrival, they found the victim lying on the ground, holding a broken electric wire in his right hand.

The initial investigation revealed that a neighbor, known by the alias “Rene,” discovered the victim while passing by on his way to a nearby house. After finding the body, Rene immediately informed the Tanauan Municipal Police Station.

The victim was quickly transported to the Rural Health Unit, where Dr. Alyana Ginnete G. Herrera declared him dead at approximately 6:30 pm on the same day.

Authorities are conducting further investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the victim’s death.
