Among the best performer officials of EV
TACLOBAN CITY-A non-commissioned survey conducted by a survey firm has shown a highly satisfactory ratings for Biliran province’ top officials.
Based on the result of the satisfaction performance survey conducted by the RP Mission and Development Foundation, Inc.(RPMDFI), Governor Rogelio Espina, Rep. Gerardo ‘Gerryboy” Espina, and Naval Mayor Gerard Roger Espina figured highly, making them among Eastern Visayas top performing leaders.
On Thursday (Oct.7), the three have filed their certificates of candidacy for next year’s elections.
Rogelio is seeking for second term as governor of the province while his younger brother, Gerryboy, is seeking for another term as a congressman.
Gerard Roger is running for mayor of Naval town.
Gov. Espina ranked number one among the six governors of the region receiving a satisfaction performing rating of 55% followed by Leyte Gov. Leopoldo Dominico Petilla who obtained a 52 percent performing rate and Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone with 51 percent performing rating.
Rep. Espina, the lone congressional representative of the province, was just two percent behind Leyte Rep. and Majority Floor Leader Ferdinand Martin Romualdez with a satisfaction performing rating of 66 percent.
Meantime, Mayor Espina topped the survey among the region’s municipal mayors based on the RPMDFI satisfaction performance rating conducted last September of this year with 10,000 respondents.
The young mayor received a rating of 72 percent followed by Kananga Mayor Manuel Vicente Torres who obtained a 68 percent rating.
While humbled by their high satisfaction ratings, Gov. Espina said that these indicate that they are doing well of their respective duties, especially during this time of pandemic cause by coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The governor, however, attributed their performance to their being united, saying that political power somehow shared by one family do works for the benefit of the people.
“We are very grateful and humbled with the result of the survey conducted by the RPMDFI. This will further inspire us to work more for the benefit of the Biliranons, especially during this time of pandemic cause by COVID-19,” Gov. Espina said.
With the health pandemic continue to rage on, one of the projects implemented by the Espinas was the construction of a new and modern provincial hospital at a cost of P400 million.
The health facility is expected to be completed in two years’ time.
