ORMOC CITY– A farmer was hacked to death by another farmer in Calubian, Leyte on Wednesday (Feb.1).
The suspect, Nolly Alcantara, 32 and a resident of Barangay Tagharigue of the said town, escaped after stabbing and hacking to death his victim, Danilo Alombo, 43, also of the said village.
Case investigator Police Corp. Jovel Urot said that the incident occurred at about 7:30 pm outside the house of the victim who sustained multiple stabbed and hacked wounds.
Urot disclosed that the victim was a known interloper in the barangay and could have possibly victimized the suspect that resulted in the killing.
Charges of murder are set to be filed at the Provincial Prosecutors Office. (ROBERT DEJON)
