n Matag-ob town polls
MATAG-OB, Leyte-The father and son tandem of businessman Bernie and Vincent Tacoy held their proclamation rally with hundreds of supporters joining them from mass to caravan around the municipality.
Clad in green shirts, hundreds of supporters in motorbikes and cars joined the Tacoys and their slate in the motorcade visiting every village of the municipality.
The father and son tandem is running against incumbent Mayor Michael Torrevillas and his son Vice Mayor Bushi Torrevillas.
The family has been ruling the political scene of Matag-ob town for about 30 years.
During the proclamation rally held last Friday, Tacoy and the One Matag-ob team promised to bring development to the municipality by implementing infrastructure projects, social, health, sports, and education programs.
Also during the proclamation rally, Tacoy told his supporters that his decision to run is not for personal gain but to help in bringing progress and development to the town.
“When my father asked me why I am entering politics, I told him, I wanted to serve the people just like you,” Tacoy said.
Tacoy also assured his supporters that what he will fulfill all his promises during the campaign including the construction of a hospital for the municipality even if he will not win.
He also promised to bring more investors to the municipality to generate more jobs and improve the town’s economy.
