TACLOBAN CITY-The provincial government of Samar brought holiday cheers to Samarnons as it lighted a giant Christmas tree at the provincial capitol grounds on December 1.
The facade of the provincial capitol building and the giant Christmas tree lit in festive colors to mark the start of the yuletide season.
Samar Sangguniang Kabataan provincial federation president Ingrid Cabarriban led in the ceremony.
“We officially welcome the Christmas season here in the province of Samar. While visiting parks, and watching the various Christmas activities are among the traditions of Samarnons, I encourage everyone to remember the true message of Christmas, to love and care for one another, and keep our faith in God,” she said.
A fireworks display followed the switch-on ceremony.
Along with the Christmas tree lighting, a chorale competition has been conducted.
