TACLOBAN CITY – Investors from various fields have signified their intention to invest in Leyte which is still reeling from the aftermath of supertyphoon Yolanda.
The investors made their desire to relocate in the province after Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico Petilla made a presentation of the province’ post-Yolanda experience during a conference attended by investors initiated by the Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers(APCAC).
The governor was invited to attend the APCAC Summit together with Bohol Gov. Edgar Chatto to present on their respective disaster response preparedness.
APCAC Spring Summit is an annual conference that convenes hundreds of executives from all over the world to provide in-depth discussions about the key issues that the multinational business community currently faces.
It was learned that investors who made known of their interests include Convergence Gold Cordillera Gold Coffee Goldcrest Land Builders, COFILCO, Semi Conductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines (SEIPI), Guam Marianas Management Services, Inc. and Global Intl. Ltd.
COFILCO is an accredited umbrella organization of Filipino consulting firms in Disaster, Environment, Infrastructure and, Management; while, SEIPI is the largest organization of foreign and Filipino electronics companies that promotes the country’s competitive advantages and growth opportunities in electronics manufacturing and technology business.
Guam Marianas Management Services, Inc., on the other hand, provides a variety of services and solution from accounts receivable collection, debt collection, allied health training and certification, examination and review, information technology and computer training, and so much more.
Meanwhile, Global Intl. Ltd. is a leading business organization with wide range of interest in trading, contracting, construction and services.
Gov. Petilla said that this is a “very welcome development” after he shared of the province’s experience after Yolanda and how the resiliency of the people sparked efforts to get back to normal lives.
He added that Leyte is ready to welcome more investors.
