DAGAMI, Leyte – To accommodate a larger volume of vehicles, smooth and faster travel, a portion of the Jaro-Dagami-Burauen-La Paz road section gets a P29.37 million worth of road upgrading projects implemented by the Leyte Second District Engineering Office (L2DEO) of the Department of Public Works (DPWH).

The project, which was started in February 2023 and is targeted to be completed by October of this year, entails a widened road on both sides with a length of 1.35-kilometer, each measuring 2.175-meter wide and 0.28-meter thick.

Aside from the road widening and upgrading works, a concrete drainage was constructed on both edges of the pavement to serve as waterways, protecting the road surface from excessive water brought in by rain and built with a reinforced concrete pipe culvert as a cross drain.

District Engineer Leo Edward Oppura said that the project, located in Barangay Plaridel and Rizal, all in Dagami, will bring socio-economic development to the community.

Once completed, traversing the Jaro-Dagami-Burauen-La Paz road network will be easier, faster, and more convenient.
