ALBUERA, Leyte-The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO) recently joined the ceremonial groundbreaking for the Construction of Seawall in Brgy. Poblacion, Albuera, Leyte.
The seawall, a stone masonry structure with a length of 350 linear meter and a width of 2.0 m., will feature a steel sheet pile on foundation and a structural concrete walkway that is 0.15 m. thick and is set to enhance the protection of the coastal municipality, particularly benefiting residents of the low-lying areas.
With a funding allocation of Php 96.5M under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) 2024, the project will safeguard the community from the adverse impacts of coastal erosion and storm surges. Moreover, it will provide a durable and reliable barrier against the forces of nature, significantly improving the safety and resilience of Brgy. Poblacion. (PR)
