ISABEL, Leyte – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO) represented by Assistant District Engineer Rosita A. Tinawin has officially turned over the newly completed Multi-Purpose Building to the residents of Brgy. Mahayag in Isabel, Leyte on April 12, 2023.
The turnover ceremony was attended by Leyte 4th District Representative Richard I. Gomez, board members, barangay officials and residents.
With a total contract cost of P9,899,336.99, the four-storey building is equipped with 3 rooms, roof deck and a generator. This project aims to provide a functional and safe space that the community can use for various activities, events and in case of emergency.
During her speech, ADE Tinawin highlighted the efforts of Congressman Gomez in securing funding for this project with the Department assisting in its implementation and construction. She also hoped that those efforts will not go to waste and added, “Para mapakinabangan ng lahat, hindi lang tayo, pati na yung mga anak natin, kailangan nating pangalagaan at i-maintain ang property.” (For the benefit of all, not only us but including our children, we need to care for and maintain the property.)
DPWH continues to prioritize infrastructure development in various barangays in the district to provide better access to essential services and improve their quality of life. (PR)
