LEYTE, Leyte-The ‘Oplan Katok’ or Bilang Boga program initiated by the local police here resulted in a success after a local resident surrendered his firearms.
The person, who was only identified as ‘Singcol,’ and a resident of Barangay Consuegra, turned over his Caliber 45 pistol on Tuesday (Dec.19).
Singcol told local police that he deposited his pistol while waiting for the renewal of his license to own and possess firearms (LTOPF).
The firearm holder was informed to execute an affidavit of undertaking to conform with RA 10591 and for other legal purposes on the deposited firearms.
The said firearm is now under the custody of the local police for proper disposition and safekeeping pending renewal of license. (ROBERT DEJON)
