NSSDEO, Brgy. Burabud, Laoang, N. Samar– The municipal mayor of Catubig, Northern Samar, Honorable Solomon G. Vicencio was present during the inauguration and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the completed construction of Catubig Flood Control Structure and Drainage System, Catubig River Basin, Catubig, Northern Samar, last March 13, 2024.
The construction of Catubig Flood Control Structure and Drainage System, Catubig River Basin, Catubig, Northern Samar, started on February 7, 2023, with a budget appropriation of P57,500,000 intented for the construction of 256 linear meter flood control structure.
“An mga sugad sine nga proyekto nga bisan pag ananuon namon dihan sa Catubig, dire namo kakayanon.” Mayor Solomon Vicencio said.
Mayor Solomon was grateful to the national government led by President Bongbong Marcos, DPWH, Congressman Harris Christopher Ongchuan, and the Provincial Government for addressing and strengthening the disaster resilience and mitigation by constructing indispensable project in his jurisdiction.
“Kabaysay na sa ato riverbank, maiibanan na liwat an kulba sa mga residente nga hane. Maiibanan an damage nga caused by erosion and flood-water. This is a massive occurrence, a massive gift to the town of Catubig”, he added.
By this project, it indicates that the municipality of Catubig can now stand against disastrous events which may occur in their locality.
