ORMOC CITY– A single motorcycle driver died on the spot after the vehicle he was driving was bumped by an incoming multi-cab in Barangay San Policarpo, Calbayog City last Saturday (May 4) at about 5:30 am.
The victim was identified as alias Archie”, 38, self-employed, and a resident of Brgy. San Policarpo.
The driver of the multi-cab was identified as alias “Nando”, 54, also self-employed, and a resident of Brgy. Trinidad, also in Calbayog.
Initial investigation conducted by the local police disclosed that multi-cab driven by the suspect was travelling from the north heading in the south direction while the single motorcycle driven by the victim was travelling in the opposite direction.
However, upon reaching the place of the incident, the multi-cab overtook a vehicle ahead and accidentally hit the single motorcycle resulting in the collision.
As a result, the driver of the single motorcycle crashed into the concrete pavement and died on the spot due to severe head injury while the driver of the multi-cab was unharmed.
The driver of the multi-cab is now detained at the Calbayog city police station.
