ORMOC CITY– A traffic enforcer from Inopacan, Leyte was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by local police and elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The suspect, Norwen Nopal, 46, was arrested in possession of a suspected shabu weighing two grams and with a commercial value of P800.
Nopal, said to be a job order worker of the municipal government of Inopacan as a traffic enforcer was arrested during a sting operation in Barangay Tinago of the said town at abut 2:05 pm last April 26.
The PDEA said that the suspect has been monitored by their informants for the past 3 months about his illegal activity and was arrested when he engaged in selling to one of their agents.
Charges of violations of sections 5 and 11 of Article II of R. A. 9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002, were filed by PDEA against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the locked-up cell of Inopacan municipal police station.
