NSSDEO, Brgy. Burabud, Laoang, N. Samar– The P10 million farm to market road project in Barangay Gibatangan, Laoang, Northern Samar, is now completed through the Department of Public Works and Highways – Northern Samar Second District Engineering Office (DPWH-NSSDEO).
This 350-meter roadway project contracted by JBM Engineers & Supply with a 1.5-meter alongside and 6.10 meters wide, is now ready to serve the barangays of Yabyaban and Gibatangan where essential services such as healthcare and education for rural communities and exchanging delivery of agricultural products produced by each barangay has an opportunity to increase economic activities therein.
Moreover, this project has a huge impact to both farmers and market communities by improving transportation infrastructure. Farmers can efficiently get their products to market reducing spoilage and increasing profits.
Additionally, better road access can attract more potential buyers to these rural areas that will help economic development to improve quality of life.
