ORMOC CITY– A village chairman in Mondragon, Northern Samar who is running for a reelection in the October 30 barangay polls was arrested for perjury.
Arrested by the elements of the regional intelligence division of the Philippine National Police on Friday (Oct.6) at about 10 am was Arnel Domasig, 41, chairman of Barangay Talolora in the said town.
The accused was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Allan Cornejo, presiding judge of the 10th Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Catarman -Lope de Vega, 8th Judicial Region, Catarman, Northern Samar dated October 3, 2023.
The court recommended a bail of P36, 000 for the temporary liberty of the accused.
Mondragon hotline receiver in an interview said that the accused immediately applied for bail immediately after he was arrested.
