NSSDEO, Brgy. Burabud, Laoang, N. Samar, – The Department of Public Works and Highways-Northern Samar Second District Engineering (DPWH-NSSDEO) headed by OIC District Engineer Charlito S. Carlobos and Assistant District Engineer Atty. Arthur Eric L. Sabong, extends support for promoting tourism to Barangay Magtaon, Mapanas, Northern Samar, via the construction of an access road leading to a unique natural wonder that exudes majesty and magic, the Pinusilan Blue Lagoon.
Engineers monitor the implementation of the project to ensure that it adheres to quality standards of the construction.
On June 21, 2023, Engr. Gil D. Herera, Jr., Chief of the Construction Section, headed the project inspection. He was accompanied by Engr. Eduardo M. Lagrimas, Chief of the Quality Assurance Section, and Engr. Dennis Lozano, who is the Planning and Design Section’s representative. The assigned Project Engineer, Arturo C. Corocoto, Jr., was also present.
The aforementioned project is under contract with Christfer Construction & Supply with a contract ID of 22II0051. Moreover, it has three project components, as follows: (1) Concreting of 200-meter roadway with a thickness of 0.28m and a width of 6.7m with a 1.5m shoulder on both sides; (2) Construction of a reinforced concrete footbridge; and (3) Installation of 25 solar street lights.
In addition to providing easy access to the clear water of the enchanting Pinusilan Blue Lagoon, the scenic view of different rock formations and terrain along the rocky beach will draw more visitors and tourists.
The project also intends to make nighttime driving easier by making the access road visible even at dusk.(ZYRA JOY J. CHING, PIO Staff)
