ORMOC CITY- The shipping line that owned the ill-fated M/V Wonderful Stars that went ablaze after it docked at the city wharf, will pay the damages suffered by the passengers as it declared P100 million losses due to the incident. The 1,297.71 gross tonnage roll-on/roll-off passenger vessel had just docked at the Ormoc wharf when it caught fire last August 8 at around 4 early morning. The sea incident happened just more than a month after an outrigger motor banca, M/B Kim Nirvana-B, sank that killed 61 people.  “Rest assured that all belongings of the passengers that were lost will be compensated and the cargoes will be paid according to the amount stated in the bill of lading.
