ORMOC CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO) organized an orientation session from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to inform its Contract of Service (COS) workers who were previously not covered by PhilHealth and are now required under the Universal Health Care Act (Republic Act No. 11223).
The session commenced with an overview of the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP) of the Philippines and the Universal Health Care. Participants were guided through their health insurance coverage with an emphasis on the benefits and support PhilHealth provides during medical needs.
An open forum was held at the conclusion of the orientation which provided a platform for the COS workers to voice their queries, enabling a direct and interactive dialogue with the PhilHealth representatives. (PR)
