Tacloban City – Around 100 pupils and residents of Timbangan Elementary School in Calbiga, Samar, received Christmas gifts during an outreach activity organized by the Police Regional Office-8 (PRO-8) Press Corps and the Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) on December 21.
The initiative was led by PRO-8 Press Corps President Ioannes Paulos Omang and RPIO Chief Major Analiza Armeza, with strong support from PRO-8 Regional Director Brigadier General Jay Cumigad.
This program forms part of the Press Corps’ year-round efforts to assist deserving children and communities across Eastern Visayas.
Brigadier General Cumigad expressed his gratitude for the outreach activity, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the police and media in serving the community.
“It is heartwarming to see this partnership bringing joy and assistance to those in need,” he said.
Earlier, on December 10, members of the press corps held a meet-and-greet with Brig. Gen. Cumigad, who highlighted the significance of fostering strong relationships between the police force and media practitioners.
“This gathering strengthens our partnership and enhances mutual trust, which is vital in our shared mission of public service,” he added.
During the event, Ioannes Paulos Omang pledged the Press Corps’ continued support for PNP-8’s endeavors, committing to provide timely and relevant information to the public.
The PRO-8 Press Corps and RPIO’s outreach initiative underscores the spirit of giving and collaboration, exemplifying their commitment to making a positive impact on communities in the region.
