TACLOBAN CITY– Several areas in Southern Leyte were jolted by a 3.5 magnitude quake that occurred Monday(Jan.8) at about 2:28 am.
However, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said that it does not expect any damage or aftershocks.
The tectonic-origin quake was traced in Liloan town with a depth of focus of 016 kms.
The quake was felt in Liloan and San Francisco at Intensity III; San Juan, also in Southern Leyte at Intensity II.
And based on instrumental intensities, the quake was at Intensity III in San Francisco; Intensity II in San Juan; and Intensity I in Sogod and Malitbog, both in Southern Leyte; and Mahaplag, Leyte.
