ORMOC CITY– A delivery rider who is listed in the regional level drug personality was arrested by operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Southern Leyte Provincial Police Office and Maasin City police’s drug enforcement team during a buy-bust operation at about 2:05 pm on Saturday (May 18) in Barangay Rizal, Maasin City.
The suspect was identified as Ronie Mori, 32, and a resident of Brgy. Ichon, Macrohon, Southern Leyte.
The suspect is listed as a high-value individual (HVI Regional level) and listed as Rank Number 5 of the regional top priority target list.
Recovered from his possession were five sachets containing white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu procured by an operative in the amount of P5,000.
During the conduct of a body search done in the presence of an elected official and a representative from the local media, the searching cop recovered five more sachets containing white crystalline substances also suspected to be shabu.
Charges of violations of sections 5 (selling illegal drugs) & 11 (possession of illegal drugs) of Article II of RA 9165 the Comprehensive Law against illegal drugs of 2002 were filed against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the locked-up cell of Maasin CPS.(ROBERT DEJON)
