TACLOBAN CITY- More than 500 unemployed people coming from different parts of Leyte tried their luck during a two-day jobs fair sponsored by the Philippine Red Cross held at the Robinsons Place, this city. The two-day jobs fair, which ended on July 20, 2014, had 43 job openings for those who sought employment, said Karen Grace Udtuhan, staff of the Philippine Red Cross.
The job fair had a theme “Grab the opportunity. Build a career with us.” Udtuhan said that the 43 job available are for the Red Cross for the United States, Germany, Spain and Australia chapters working in the country, particularly in Eastern Visayas.
The job vacancies were for administrative assistant, bookkeeper, community development organizer, drivers, finance assistant, logistics assistant, procurement assistant, project engineer, project team leader, technical project assistant in administration, DRR, finance, health, water and sanitation, shelter and water sanitation and warehouse assistant.
“This job fair is part of the supertyphoon Yolanda response here in Leyte. We are still blessed because there are many international and non-government organizations that came here to help us and give as opportunity to have jobs.
