NSSDEO, Brgy. Burabud, Laoang, N. Samar– A momentous event, the completed concreting of a road in Sitio Patong to Brgy. Lawaan to Brgy. Ginagdanan, San Roque, Northern Samar was officially inaugurated last March 15, 2024, aiming to give an accessible road leading to the tranquil Barangay in San Roque, Brgy. Ginagdanan.
The ceremonial inauguration was started with a ribbon-cutting led by Congressman of the 2nd District of Northern Samar, Harris Christopher Ongchuan, DPWH-NSSDEO Assistant District Engineer, Atty. Arthur Eric L. Sabong, alongside Provincial Board Member Don Abalon, Municipal Mayor of San Roque, Ma. Ana Abalon, Vice Mayor Ethel Ramirez, Brgy. Captain of Brgy. Lawaan, Rufino Tiberio, DPWH staff and employees, and other local officials.
The inaugurated project has a budget appropriation of P16 million from the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2023 for a construction of 960.00 meters roadway with 1.50 meters shoulder, both sides.
The inauguration of this road signifies that the national government has accomplished its goal of having a safe and smooth paved road to all barangays, especially to rural areas.
Local farmers can now use the paved road where it will not be difficult to transport their farm commodities to nearby barangays and even to market center of San Roque.
The Municipal Mayor Abalon commended the hardworking Congressman Ongchuan who supported the project, where she uttered that, “Salamat Congressman sa padayon ngan magpapadayon pa nga pagsuporta agud matuman an mga inop nga padayon an progreso ngan pagtubo san bungto sa San Roque, labi na gud ine dihan sine nga upat nga barangay nga medyo huruharayo an kanra transportasyon pakadto sa national highway.”
The concreting of road in Sitio Patong to Brgy. Lawaan to Brgy. Ginagdanan was started on April 19, 2023, and completed ahead of its schedule on August 14, 2023.
