NSSDEO, Brgy. Burabud, Laoang, Northern Samar– Under the abled leadership of District Engineer Charlito S. Carlobos, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Northern Samar Second District Engineering Office has completed the widening of a road section located in Pambujan, Northern Samar along Rawis-Catubig Road.
The scope of work of this project is road widening of 2.156 lane kilometer included paving of shoulder, and an 80.00-meter slope protection works and provision of headwall and pipe culverts. The objective is to ensure public safety and improve better mobility of motorists and commuters traversing this area.
The project’s cost as per contract documents is P40-million funded under the DPWH Regular Infrastructure thru 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
The newly improved road section can now cater large volume of traffic and larger types of vehicles like big busses and 10-wheeler trucks.
DE Carlobos said the project is significant because widened road networks facilitate faster movement of people and delivery of goods and services while at the same time providing convenient and comfortable travel.
Meanwhile, more DPWH NSSDEO projects are in the pipeline to support the economic development agenda of the Provincial Government of Northern Samar.
