TACLOBAN CITY– The Samar Island Medical Center in Calbayog City is expected to be operational by next year.

Thus said Rep. Jude Acidre of the Tingog party-list who said that they have provided P90 million for the said project.

By 2025, it is expected that the mother and child building will be able to operate as a tertiary hospital with a 300-bed capacity to serve the patients of Samar, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar

The construction of the Samar Island Medical Center was restarted last month through P477.68 million funds from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the first phase of the mother-and-child building.
