ORMOC CITY-A member of the town council in Tarangnan, Samar was arrested inside his house for illegal possession of firearms on Friday (August 25).
Arrested during the raid was Albert Molito,39 at his residence in Barangay Majacob in the said town at about 7:03 am, town police chief Capt. Nieto Rarugal.
The raid was by virtue of a search warrant for alleged violation of the suspect of R.A. 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act issued by Judge Rico Leo Sacaben, presiding judge of 2nd MCTC of Tarangnan-Pagsanghan, Tarangnan, Samar.
Seized from the suspect were a 45-caliber pistol and one magazine for the said caliber loaded with four live ammunitions.
The arrested respondent is now detained at the provincial office of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Catbalogan City.
