CATBALOGAN CITY — Despite his busy schedule, Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino made time to visit the province of Samar for Barangay Day, held as part of the Samar founding anniversary celebrations on August 11.

Tolentino, who visited this city on Thursday, August 8, highlighted the occasion as an opportunity to showcase the Catbalogan airport, praising it as one of the most beautiful airports in the country.

“I am grateful to Governor Sharee Ann Tan and Congressman Reynold Tan for inviting me to be part of the program. This invitation is particularly significant because it allows me to experience and showcase this beautiful airport for the first time,” Tolentino said.

In an interview with local media, Tolentino mentioned his current focus on his Senate duties, including his roles as chair of the committees on ethics and privileges, rules, and maritime.

One of the key issues his committees are addressing is the investigation into the oil spill in Bataan, which occurred when the oil tanker MT Terranova capsized and submerged on July 25, along with identifying the responsible parties.
