ORMOC CITY-A drug parolee who has been monitored by drug authorities for a year finally falls to the law during buy-bust on Tuesday (Dec.20) in Barangay Anahaway, Palo, Leyte.
Director Edgar Jubay of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspect as Ronaldo Gaspay, 60, married, jobless and from Tacloban City.
The suspect is the No. 1 drug personality in the drug watch list of PDEA Tacloban.
During a body search, anti-narcotic agents recovered from the pocket of the suspect a pack of cigarette color green mark “Chesterfield” containing seven sachets of white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu with an estimated weight of 75 grams and a street value of P450, 000.
The suspect, when interviewed, told the media that he has returned from selling and using the illegal drugs for more than a year now after his children neglected him after he was released from imprisonment.
Charges of violations of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegals Drugs of 2002 were filed against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the PDEA custodial facility in Tacloban City.
