TACLOBAN CITY– About 460 student athletes from Tacloban’s ‘Red Stallion’ received financial support on Tuesday(April 30) at Tacloban’s People Center and Library as they prepare for the Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA) Meet 2024 in Ormoc which is to officially open this Sunday(May 5).
Tingog party-list and House Speaker Martin Romualdez’s office led this effort.
Each student-athlete received P5,000 with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) overseeing the distribution.
Furthermore, aside from the financial aid, the city government under Mayor Alfred Romualdez and the Department of Education supplied uniforms and gears to guarantee the athletes are fully equipped for the forthcoming contest.
Additionally, a send-off gathering took place at the People’s Center and Library to show support for the athletes and coaches.
With this backing, Tacloban’s ‘Red Stallions’ are poised to make their mark at the EVRAA from May 5 to May 10, proudly representing Tacloban City at Ormoc City.
