TACLOBAN CITY– Despite scorching temperatures, the Tacloban City District Engineering Office (TCDEO), in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Internal Audit team, embarked on an extensive project verification initiative across Tacloban City on April 10, 2024.
Under the guidance of Luz M. Dela Rosa, Director of the DPWH Internal Audit Service, the audit team, including auditors Marina A. Leoparte and Artemio V. Cruz, collaborated closely with TCDEO’s leadership, including OIC District Engineer Rebecca G. Yuse and OIC Assistant District Engineer Marichu T. Eduarte, along with project engineers, to meticulously inspect several key projects.
The projects under scrutiny included enhancements to Justice Romualdez Street, improvements to Gov Benjamin “Kokoy” T Romualdez Diversion Road, the construction of a drainage system along Athletic Road, the establishment of a Multi-Purpose Building (Covered Court) at Tacloban National Agricultural School in Barangay 94-A Basper Tacloban City, and the implementation of shore protection structures along Old Road, Phase 2, Tacloban City.
Commenting on the initiative, OIC District Engineer Rebecca G. Yuse emphasized, “ Even with the tough weather, teaming up with the DPWH Internal Audit crew shows how dedicated we are to keeping project quality top-notch. By sticking to strict verification processes, our goal is to make sure these important infrastructure projects last long and work well.”
The verification initiative aims to uphold transparency, accountability, and the highest standards of quality in infrastructure development, contributing to the overall progress and development of Tacloban City. (PR)
