ORMOC CITY-A village official was shot dead in Villaba in Leyte on May 14 with police authorities have yet to arrest the suspect.
Killed was Richard Omega, 46, village councilor of Barangay Sulpa in the said town at about 3:30 am.
Based on the report of the local police, the victim was sitting inside a basketball court while a public dance was in progress when the unidentified suspect approached him and shot him several times which caused his instant death.
The suspect immediately fled from the scene of the crime with the people inside the place scampered to different directions for safety and out of fear.
The local police continue on their investigation to identify the lone gunman and his reason for killing the village official.
