ORMOC CITY-The rescue team from the fire station this city sprang into action to provide critical assistance to a mother who unexpectedly gave birth while aboard a boat around 5:16 am on Sunday (April 28) in Barangay Naungan of this city.
City Fire Marshal, Chief Inspector Darren Baclean, leading the response team, recounted receiving a medical emergency call regarding a mother in labor and a newborn baby boy.
Upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that the mother had already delivered her baby boy unaided, including the delivery of the placenta. Consequently, the BFP rescue team swiftly cut the baby’s umbilical cord.
In addition to this urgent intervention, the rescue team monitored the vital signs of both the newborn and the mother before promptly transporting them to St. John’s Bluestar Maternity Clinic for further assessment and care.
It was learned that the baby was the fourth child for Dellosa, a resident of Sitio Quintolimbo, whose residents uses boats as their means of transportation before reaching the village proper.
