ORMOC CITY– A farmer has reported to the police to complain that the husband of one of the candidates for barangay councilor allegedly left P70,000 cash under one condition, not to vote for the reelectionist chairman, about 3:00 in the afternoon on Sunday (October 29).
Police identified the complainant as Judita Buscay, 47, while the alleged suspect was identified as Jose Pepe Inocillas. Both residents of Barangay Tuburan of Calubian, Leyte.
The local police said that while they were conducting a foot patrol led by the chief of police, Major Neil Fernando Cerdeña, in Brgy. Tuburan, Buscay called their attention and informed them that at about 3 pm, a cash amounting P70,000 was left to her by Inocillas, the husband of a candidate purportedly not to vote for another candidate who is running for barangay chairman.
And out of fear, she turned over the said money to the proper authority in the barangay hall which was eventually turned over to Cerdeña.
